Is the Optimum Nutrition Platinum Tri-Celle Casein protein powder product the best casein protein supplement on the market?

Rating: 5 (out of 5)

Welcome to this review of the Optimum Nutrition Platinum Tri-Celle Casein protein powder product. The Optimum Nutrition, or ON, company is one of the most respected muscle building supplements and nutritional supplement companies on the planet.

Their products have won numerous awards including best protein powder, best casein protein, etc. They make quality products.

One of the distinguishing featurs about this company is that all their products are tested, synthesized, and manufactured in NSF Certified for Sport registered GMP certified facilities. Its in-house manufacturing operation has been registered under the NSF International, The Public Health and Safety Company, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Program.

Pharmaceutical cGMP compliance is the highest standard possible, but the NSF Sports Certified in GMP facilities is a standard of quality.

Let’s now get into this offering by Optimum Nutrition and their Platinum Tri-Celle casein protein powder supplement product.

Product Features of ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein Protein Powder

Let’s first talk about the product’s core nutritional profile. Here are the core nutrition facts regarding the Platinum Tri-Celle casein protein powder:

  • 30 Grams of protein per serving
  • 12.5 grams of EAAs (essential amino acids)
  • 160 calories per serving with only 15 of those calories coming from fat
  • 60 of the mineral calcium with 60% DV per serving
  • Anti-catabolic, post workout support due to 200mg of L-Theanine

It also comes in just one option, the 2.37 pound canister or 25 serving offering. What about flavors? It comes in three flavors, chocolate decadence, strawberry indulgence and vanilla bliss.

ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein ON Casein Protein PowderHow does it compare with its sister product from Optimum Nutrition? The Platinum product line is designed for very serious athletes and fitness enthusiasts that are seeking for the best of the best slow-digesting, anti-catabolic casein protein supplement.

It’s manufactured differently with one of the key distinguishing differences. ON says they’ve got a patent-pending technology they call “MicelleXL” that combines the core micellar casein molecules into a structure that triples the average micellar casein protein molecule.

This causes it to be slow digested over a period of several hours thus providing a sustain release of amino acids that help support the synthesis of lean muscle. Plus, the ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein product gives 200 miligrams of L-Theanine, which supports post-workout muscle recovery.

The ON Casein is designed for the “average” fitness enthusiast and the beginner-to-intermediate bodybuilder. The Platinum Tri-Celle Casein is designed for serious, hardcore bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts.

What’s The Price of the ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein Protein Powder Product?

It’s price range varies from $40.49 to $84.76 on the ecommerce and brick-and-mortar outlets. On Amazon, you will get the best price from what I can tell, judging from my research, but you are free to choose.

Does It Include a Guarantee? Optimum Nutrition has a great guarantee and confidence in their product but they defer to the retailer’s guarantee. If you buy from Amazon, for example, you get their guarantee, which you can see in part here.

Consumer Reviews & Testimonials

This product has been well received in the market place. While a company will predictably accentuate their product’s good points, a customer will be much more forthcoming regarding a product’s positives and negatives.

Tastes Great Lots of Protein/Low Calorie, Pretty Expensive

If you have the money to spend on this, it tastes really good and you get 6 or 7 more grams of protein for less calories than most similar protein powders. There are only 25 servings in thprotein-powder2is jug, that makes it even more expensive. I plan to only use this stuff on the nights (4x per week) that I go to the gym and my other less expensive stuff on non-workout days. That will make is last about 6 weeks. Anyway, just my thoughts.

Great taste and makes me feel so full and satisfied! I’ve been waiting for this product to be released, always been a fan of Optimum. I hope they come out with a chocolate peanut butter flavor like the hydrowhey has!

Flavor Name: Chocolate Decadence

Was always a fan of ON’s 100% casein so was interested to see what this “Tri-celle” stuff would be like. First thing I noticed was that it mixes better than any powder I’ve ever tried before. After mixing, it starts to get slowly thicker so I added some more water before drinking it. Taste-wise it was delicious – verily like drinking a thick chocolate shake. I felt full afterwards. If it carries on thickening after consumption then I guess it will be a great satiety product. But I don’t know what its effects were in this regard as I went straight to sleep. I have to say however, that when I woke up, I felt good and was in no hurry to have breakfast

Are there any customer complaints? The biggest complaint that I can see is its cost, but you get what you pay for. This is a highly refined product that is designed for “hardcore” weight trainers, bodybuilders, and athletes. So, it’s understandable why one would pay more.

Where Can I Buy The ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein Protein Powder?

ON Platinum Tri-CelleYou can buy it here, but you are free to choose. Is this the best casein powder on the market? I think if it is not the number one option out there, it is in the top 3 — it’s that good. One thing for sure, this is a high-quality post-workout protein supplement. It’s outstanding.

I hope this review of the ON Platinum Tri-Celle Casein protein powder product has been helpful to you.
