Welcome to this review of the Post Jym post-workout supplement product. This product is made by the same company, Stoppani Supplement Science (SSS), that makes the well regarded Pre Jym pre-workout supplement product.
This company doesn’t have the name of say Xtend-Life, MusclePharm or Dymatize but its two products sell very well and are widely respected as either the best in their class (pre-workout and post-workout supplement) or in the top three. That is a high achievement for such a small company. As of this writing, JSS has also just released a protein powder and multivitamin product as well. So, currently, they only have five products on the market.
Without further adieu, let’s now delve into this Post Jym post-workout supplement or bodybuilding supplement product.
Post Jym Product Features & Benefits
As supplement fraud is so common in the supplement industry, it is important to discuss briefly quality control. While there aren’t even negative rumors as to the efficacy of this product or its purity, one notworthy element of this product is that it is not produced in what are called NSF Certified for Sport registered GMP certified facilities.
Such certification validates a company’s in-house manufacturing operation as for purity. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are standards outlined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that address all aspects of dietary supplement production, from raw ingredient sourcing to final product release, as well as employee training and facility and equipment maintenance. Ongoing audits are performed in order to ensure continued compliance with the regulations. Companies who earn this designation have displayed a clear and consistent emphasis on quality throughout the manufacturing process. (That’s Jim Stoppani, PhD to the right of this paragraph. Stoppani is the author of “Jim Stoppani’s Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength” and is a well-regarded expert in the areas of bodybuilding nutrition and strength training.)
Does this mean that the Post JYM product is an inferior product? No, it is a small company that is just getting its legs, but in some instances that is an advantage. Jim Stoppani, PhD, the founder of the company that produces Post JYM, Stoppani Supplement Science, also designed the Post Jym and Pre Jym formulas. Such personalized attention can mitigate a loss in quality that is common in bigger companies.
Let’s now get into the product’s specifics. Stoppani Supplement Science says,
“Stoppani Supplement Science combines real science with real ingredients to deliver unreal results. Post JYM, my revolutionary post-workout recovery formula, delivers the exact ingredients you need after every workout to ensure those unreal results. It’s a powerful post-workout cocktail scientifically designed to help you boost repair, maximize recovery, & build more muscle.”
Of all the post workout supplement products on the market, Post JYM has one of the most impressive nutrient profiles or ingredient list. The product comes with no abbreviated formulas, concentrates or fillers, says Jym Supplement Science.
Post JYM comes with carnitine and glutamine, two vital nutrients that are key to post-workout repair, but that is not all.
It also comes with two grams of creatine HCL, six grams of BCAAs (branched chain amino acids), which are critical to muscle growth, and two grams of beta-alanine. All told the product comes with the following:
- 9 ingredients
- 6 grams of BCAAs in a 3:1:1 ratio that enhances muscle growth
- 3 grams of glutamine for better recovery and growth
- 2 grams of creatine HCL for greater strength, endurance, and muscle growth
- 2 grams of CarnoSyn® beta-alanine to boost muscle power, strength, endurance, and muscle growth
- 2 grams of Carnipure L-carnitine L-tartrate to aid recovery and put more testosterone to work for you
- 1.5 grams of betaine for greater power and strength during workouts
- 5 milligrams of BioPerine® to enhance absorption of the active ingredients in Post JYM for even better results*
- A separate packet with 30 grams of dextrose lets you add fast-digesting carbs to your post-workout protocol, or keep it low carb
To have creatine and beta-alanine in the same formula is quite rare, but then to add a full complement of BCAAs and l-carnitine and glutamine is outstanding.
What are its flavors and servings info? It comes in fruit punch and watermelon. It currently only comes in one size with each canister having 30 servings. (This has been updated from 20 to 30 servings as of late September 2014.) In time, many customers hope it will have different size offerings.
Post JYM Price
This product is only sold through bodybuilding.com right now but that will most likely change in the future. I just checked this as I updated this review today (October 3rd, 2019) and it sells for $34.87 – $36.00 per canister.
Does Post JYM Have a Product Guarantee?
There is no mention of a product guarantee on the Stoppani Supplement Science website. Like virtually all vendors, though, they honor the return policy or guarantee of the vendor selling it. Bodybuilding.com is the only company selling it currently and they have a good return policy and guarantee. There, if you buy a product and it is unopened, you can get a complete refund. If you open a product and it doesn’t meet your expectations, you can either get a replacement or choose another product that has the monetary equivalent.
Out of 479 reviews as of this writing (October 3rd, 2019), Post JYM has achieved an unheard-of 9.8 out of a possible 10.00 rating by customers. Anything 9.0 or above is highly indicative of tremendous customer dissatisfaction, but a 9.8 is exceptional and unprecedented.
Are there any customer complaints? The price is the one complaint that I’ve come across the most. Many people also decry the lack of flavors. Remember, this is a small operation so it’s not surprising that they only offer two flavors. This is a very well received product in the marketplace all told. Here are a few reviews from customers:
Jkubricht — rating 10.00
Wow!! I don’t know what else to say about this product besides “Unbelievable”! After researching and reading up on what Jim and others have to say about post workouts, this is some awesome stuff! I’ve seen some really nice recovery using this product. A little pricey yes, but I can at least rest my head at night knowing that I put things in my body to help my muscles to recover and grow to the max. Flavors are really good too. I’m a believer Jim! 🙂
AdanJohnson — rating 10.00
The rating and reviews of this product live up to the hype. I was skeptical about the cost initially, but I believe Post JYM to be well worth it. I am seeing great improvement in some difficult-to-develop areas of my body since beginning to use this product and plan on continuing. The fact that the watermelon flavor is the best tasting supplement I have ever taken doesn’t hurt, either. Highly recommended.
SJMoss1983 — rating 10.00
This has been an excellent PWO supplement. It has a great profile and the ability to mix in the amount of dextrose you want is fantastic. I would highly recommend this product.
- It is very well received by enthusiastic customers
- It receives inordinately high ratings from customers
- It works really, really well with reality aligning with its advertising claims
- It has been designed from the ground up by an internationally recognized and respected scientist, Jim Stoppani, PhD
- It is astonishingly highly rated achieving a 9.9 out of a possible 10 by customers
- It has a precise balance of synergistically combined nutrients designed to maximize workout effectiveness and muscle synthesis
- It is not produced in NSF GMP for Sport certified facilities
- There is no mention of a product guarantee at Stoppani Supplement Science’s website
- It is among the more expensive post workout supplements
- It doesn’t have the name recognition of some of the other well known brands like MusclePharm, Gaspari or Optimum Nutrition
- It has sucralose or Splenda in it. Splenda is horrible for your body.
- It has acesulfame potassium in it
Where Can I Buy It?
As of today, October 3rd, 2019, you can buy it here.
The verdict? This is a solid high quality product. It has gained quite an enthusiastic following and appears to do all that it claims to do. In essence, this product works very well and is a top-notch post-workout supplement product.
While there is a certain degree of subjectivity in rating supplements, I’ve sought to be as thorough as possible with this product. One thing is for certain: it is at the very least, one of the best pre-workout supplement on the market today. However, that said, it has sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Sucralose is not a main ingredient but it is not good for the body.
I hope this review of the Post JYM post-workout supplement product has been helpful to you in determining if you want to test it or use it.
