Supplement fraud used to be utterly rampant but in the last 10 to 15 years, the U.S. gov’t has made strides to rectify that. Whey protein powder supplement products are designed to augment the diet by providing assimilable protein (and by extension amino acids) so as to provide the body with the fuel it needs to synthesize muscle. In order to do this the ingredient and nutrient profile must be scientifically analyzed and combined.

The ingredients in this product are Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate (іnсludіng ß-lactoglobulin, α-lасtаlbumіn, Immunоglоbulіnѕ and Glycomacro Peptides), Cосоа, Natural Flаvоrѕ, Xаnthаn Gum, Xylitol, BеttеrStеvіа™ [Orgаnіс Stеvіа Extrасt (Leaf)], Sеа Sаlt аnd Soy Lесіthіn. Cоntаіnѕ mіlk аnd ѕоу.

There are a couple of notable ingredients that are uncommon to whey protein mixtures including xylitol and BetterStevia. Xylitol is a natural sweetener. However while those ingredients are unique and contribute to the product’s sweetness in a natural way, it is missing milk protein isolate (ideally the inclusion of micellar protein isolate would be helpful to as it is slowly digested). Just the one isolate is a negative.

What about flavors? This whey protein supplement is offered in fairly standard flavors including Dutch chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. They also have an unflavored option as well for those who might like to add fruit or other ingredients into the blender.

The size options are also unique they are 10 pound, 5 pound, 1.8 pound and 1.2 pound. I like the fact that they give the customer or prospect a nice range of options to consider. Some companies don’t do that.

Side Effects

There are no reported side effects that could be considered negative. Some complain about its “artificial taste” but it has no real health problems. This product currently has 179 reviews at one website scoring an average of 9.0 out of a possible 10.00. Anything 8.5 to 8.7 is good but 8.8 to 9.00 is superb. On Amazon, it also has a number of reviews totaling 1,100 with an average of 4.175 out of 5.00. Anything four or above is good.

This іѕ dеfіnіtеlу a hіgh quаlіtу роwdеr, it hаѕ 80% less сhоlеѕtеrоl thаn thе GNC Prо Pеrfоrmаnсе I wаѕ uѕіng, hаѕ ZERO аrtіfісіаl additives, and іѕ vеrу reasonably priced. • It is missing some of the more notable protein isolates, which are common to whey protein mixtures like milk protein isolate and perhaps micellar protein isolate
• The packaging says it is “cross-filtered” but that is no longer the case
• Some report that it doesn’t mix well but is highly gelatinous no matter what it’s mixed with

Where Can I Buy NOW Foods Whey Protein

You can buy this product from Amazon here, but you are free to choose. So, what’s the verdict? Is this a quality product? Yes, it is. However, while I have a very high regard and respect for NOW Foods, this whey protein product was not designed to be a “heavy hitter” in the muscle building sports supplement market, in my opinion. It doesn’t compare to some of the others out there like Optimum Nutrition, Muscle Pharm and others. It’s a fine protein supplement for those who want to augment their protein intake with a product that doesn’t have a lot of sweeteners and sugar, but if you are looking for a whey protein designed to really stimulate muscle growth creation, I don’t think this product can compete although it’s adequate.
