Features of The Xtend-Life Foaming Facial Cleanser Facewash Product

Xtend-Life says this product was two years in the making with research and development included. They also say they “spared no expense” in its design and formulation. The New Zealand company said they listened to the market and attempted to create a face wash product that nourished and fought aging skin without all the negative effects mentioned in the opening of this review.

They say the end result of all their work is, “…the best of nature and science.” Let’s discuss the “science” part first.

All of Xtend-Life’s products are produced in what are called cGMP-compliant facilities.  Its in-house manufacturing operation has been registered under the NSF International, The Public Health and Safety Company, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Program. These requirements are consistent with the published GMP regulation for dietary supplements as defined in 21 CFR § 111, which was published by the FDA in June 2007.

Obviously, skincare products are not supplements, but as the company owns its own manufacturing facilities, it is able to control the ingredients used and the exact product ingredient formulas used. Pharmaceutical cGMP compliance – this is the highest standard possible and while Xtend-Life’s skincare products are not “pharmaceutical grade” they are also made in a FDA-registered facility.

Let’s now talk about the “nature” element of this product.

The manufacturer of this skincare product believes that most face wash products are specifically designed to wash and clean the woman’s face but to help remove makeup as well. This product, they say, offers some other differences that they believe woman are very interested in having. (A men’s only version is made by Xtend-Life as well, by the way.)

It is designed to not only clean the face but to nourish it as well. It is infused with many ingredients that are designed to make the skin appear not only more youthful but to help restore its collagen and hydration as well.

The ingredients in this Foaming Facial Cleanser product are unique as well.

It has manuka honey, which is not that well known in the U.S. It is, the company says, a “luxurious moisturizer” that is rich in micronutrients that help to nourish, replenish and re-build the skin. Manuka honey also is teeming with anti-bacterial agents that prohibit the breakout of acne such as pimples, blackheads, etc.

It also has a proprietary ingredient called Oxi-Fend® kiwifruit, which defends skin cells against free radicals that age your skin (and body). Moreover, the company says, “This еlіtе form of kіwіfruіt also dеlіvеrѕ significant moisture-retention рrореrtіеѕ аnd the аbіlіtу tо restore a nаturаl pH оf 5.5 to your ѕkіn wіth every wаѕh.  In fасt, nо toner іѕ rеquіrеd.”

Lastly for this section, let me discuss briefly how it looks and how to apply it. When one pumps the top, a white foam comes out. Two pumps is enough to cover the whole face. It has a nice smell and is easily applied. One bottle should last a couple of months at least, too.

Pros?

• The price is very competitive and affordable
• It is made in GMP- and FDA-compliant facilities
• Every ingredient was scientifically selected in order to maximize its synergistic efficacy, the company says
• It is made without chemicals
• Can be used regardless of the skin type, i.e., oily, greasy, blotched, etc.
• Doesn’t harm those with ezcema
• It is paraben-free
• None of the materials in the face wash product are processed
• It’s easy to use. Just pump the foam into fingertips and gently massage for about one minute into the moist skin

Cons?

• The company is dishonest
• The product doesn’t have as ornate of a presentation as other skincare products. It’s rather plain, but then again, this started out as a supplement company before they diverged into the skincare market undoubtedly due to its market presence and profitability
• It is not very well known in the skincare market space
