What are the best prenatal vitamins on the market today? To answer that question, I’ve explored and researched various prenatal multivitamin products on the market today. Is this the best one? Is it a quality product? That’s what this review is all about. This particular product to be reviewed is the Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal Multivitamin product.
This product is speciifically designed to be used for the unique needs of women during pre-conception, pregnancy and lactation. (If you are looking for a more generalized multivitamin specifically for women, go here for more information within this website.) Without further adieu, let’s now get into the review.
I like to start all my reviews discussing product quality as supplement fraud is so endemic in the industry. Now, the U.S. FDA has instituted mandatory good manufacturing practices (GMP) since 2009, but it is still important to mention.
Garden of Life has their GMP certification through the NSF International of of six organizations that support and provide GMP audits. In addition, they also have the National Products Association (NPA) GMP certification as well.
Garden of Life has a full range of products and they have excellent quality control procedures in place to ensure good products that are clear of banned substances and with the ingredients as proclaimed on the label. Their products are non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) as well.

Garden of Life says this formula is very unique due to its ingredients, but also as the formula is “untreated, unheated and unadulterated” and thus is “raw.” One thing that stands out about the formula is that it has a full gambit of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutritional co-factors. The total ingredients in this formula total 32. It also has a small amount of protein.
Its ingredients comprise a full array of raw organic vegetable and fruit blends as well as raw organic sprout blends like quinoa, millet, buckwheat, and more.
It appears to be a full bodied multivitamin for women. One notable inclusion is ginger. Ginger is a “superfood” for many reasons. Its inclusion is to help combat nausea so common to pregnant women.
The serving size that Garden of Life recommends is three tablets or capsules per day. Also, this product also has a number of size options for purchase including 30, 90, 180, 180 (2 pack), 360, and 540 capsule options.
Side Effects of The Best Prenatal Vitamins
This is a safe product for pregnant women to use. In fact, women who are not pregnant actually use it as their chief multivitamin. There are no reported side effects with the product. Still, if you are pregnant, consult with your doctor about using a good prenatal vitamin and/or about this particular product if you should choose to test it out.
As with all products, some women try this particular prenatal vitamin out and it doesn’t suit them but overall, it has been met with a lot of public acclimation.
The price range for these prenatal vitamins range as follows:
- 30 capsules — $13.57 to $43.43 USD (United States Dollars)
- 90 capsules — $24.99 to $43.21
- 180 capsules — $35.70 to $64
- 180 capsules (2 pack) — $85.95
- 360 capsules — $85.95
- 540 capsules — $177.99 to $179.91
Garden of Life has a good guarantee but like all manufacturers, they defer to the retail outlet selling their product, whether it’s an online or offline outlet. That’s one of the reasons why I recommend Amazon. Why? Because 1) they have a great guarantee, 2) because for the ninth consecutive year, customers ranked Amazon #1 in customer satisfaction as released in the ForeSee Experience Index: US Retail Edition. 3) They have the lowest prices as so many vendors are fighting to get your business.
This is a well regarded product. On Amazon, it actually is a best seller and scores a 4.6 out of 5.00 among the current 478 product reviews.

Good Product. Highly Recommended
I looked at a lot of organic prenatal vitamin chews or prental multivitamins, etc. I needed a good pregnancy vitamin my doctor said so I went to her for a prescription of a good supplement or supplements. She said healthy diets go a long way after you conceive the fetus or infant but that was self-evident. I wanted to carry my baby without nutritional deficiencies. I wasn’t thinking of blood pressure or the extra weight or malnutrition as I eat well. I wanted a prenatal multivitamin that had folic acid, Vitamin D and all the rest of the vitamins and minerals needed by women who are pregnant. I didn’t want any “disorder” either. The doctor said my dietary finding was good due to a sanguis healthy diet. She said “dissolution standards” and risk factors would be lessened and I’d get less sick if I took organic prenatal vitamins. So, with all that said, I came upon this product through some research online. It works. Nausea was not there compared to other women (I have no personal reference point). I also felt better. So, yea, I recommend this.

The Best Prenatal Vitamins?
You can buy it here, but you are free to choose. So, what’s the verdict? I rate this product a 5.00 out of 5.00. Why? 1) It is made in GMP-compliant facilities, which has been certified by two separate organizations, 2) it has hundreds of reviews by real-world customers scoring very high (4.6) on Amazon, 3) it appears to work well, 4) it has a competitive price point. All in all, it is worthy of consideration for women who need such a prenatal multivitamin product.
